The Best Road Trip Trail Mix (gluten free, paleo, and vegan)

Bryan and I are off on an epic road trip tomorrow: eight days, three states, one 90th birthday party, and a heck of a lot of coffee. That’s just how we roll. I mean literally roll. #roadtriphumor
 
These days, I never seem to be able to travel without trail mix, and this is my favorite combination that I’ve had in a long time. You can obviously use whatever is in your pantry and change the proportions to suit your taste. For example, I typically use 1/3 cup of each ingredient, but was a little more….let’s say liberal with the chocolate.
 
Anyway, there isn’t much to say about trail mix, but there is probably a lot to say about road tripping, so feel free to follow me on Instagram if you feel like living road tripping vicariously.
 
 
The Best Road Trip Trail Mix
 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cupraw almonds
  • 1/3 cupraw walnut halves
  • 1/3 cupdried cranberries
  • 1/3 cupgolden raisins
  • 1/3 cupdried papaya, chopped
  • 1/2 cupdark chocolate chips or chunks

Cooking Directions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and toss to combine.
Yield: About 2 cups of trail mix
