After a prolonged silence here, this probably won’t come as a surprise, but I am taking a break from blogging and social media for the foreseeable future.
It’s not you, it’s me (really). I love this community so much, and am so proud of all the cooking and baking we’ve done together.
But the truth is that I’m just mentally and physically drained, and have been for awhile. Nearly 365 days without time to rest, recharge, see friends in person, eat at a restaurant, sit at a coffee shop, browse a store, travel, or do most of the things that replenish me has completely robbed me of my creativity and drive to cook and bake.
So I will be taking some time to try to find my way back to all the things I love about creating recipes and sharing them with you.
I’m not sure whether it will be weeks or months. We’ll just have to see. But I will be back. And my site and all of my recipes will continue to be completely accessible and totally free to access no matter what happens.
Happy clean baking. See you later!

I don’t know why I find this so comforting. That is exactly how I’ve described my last year. My joy of cooking, creating, baking and sharing meals has been snuffed out the day the pandemic hit. Community is such a huge part of food and not having people to share it with has robbed all the joy and creativity out of me. I could barely create meals for my own family. This form of pandemic fatigue has just piles on slowly and has stuck for longer than I imagined! I just want to say I feel what you’re going through and today, as I find a speck of desire to bake I’ve found myself on your page. Reading this has made me feel not alone. I hope you find your joy and passion again for yourself first! Thanks for all your recipes to this date!

I’m both sorry and somewhat comforted by the fact that you’ve had the same experience. This has been such an isolating year, both socially and in the sense that we’ve all had to give up so much of ourselves in many ways! I hope you are finding your way back to the joy and creativity that cooking used to bring!
